An Ode to an incorrigible Pendulum
You say you wish to visit new worlds,
believing the fantasies woven
by the prevaricating pied piper
built on the manna from east
(he as lost as everyone but differently)
as I watch you
flip-flopping endlessly
between the same tired polarities.
Feet firmly on the ground
between measured steps
walking the same paths as before
in the same line as always
to or fro
Unused sight, eyes inward
Unused mind, thoughts inwards
hands rubbing together in glee
when your false choice wins
over theirs
Admit it!:
Only long dead papers
stacked in your coffers
make you happy.
How can you fly
when you can't even jump?
Endlessly "moo"netyzing while you circle
the same two poles
weighed down by ill-gotten expectations
tracing a sideways figure eight
is not the same
as experiencing infinity.
